People buy massive graphics cards and try to cram them into compact cases. Measure the inside clearance of your case and check it against the length of your graphics card before you buy anything. We see builders try to force hardware into tight spaces. Get a proper screwdriver. Close the retention arm. It will take a bit of force.</p><p>Next, install your RAM. Check your motherboard manual to see which slots to use first. Push the sticks straight down until the tabs click into place. Install your storage drive into the M.2 slot if you have one and screw it down flat.</p><p><strong><br data-mce-bogus='1'></strong></p><p><span style='color: rgb(255, 48, 48); font-size: 14pt;' data-mce-style='color: #ff3030; font-size: 14pt;'><strong>Installing the motherboard and cooler</strong></span></p><p>Move the motherboard into your empty computer case. Line it up with the metal standoffs pre-installed in the case. Screw the motherboard down using the screws provided with your case.</p><p>Now mount your processor cooler. If your cooler has pre-applied thermal paste, you just screw it down onto the processor. If it does not, squeeze a pea-sized drop of thermal paste onto the center of the processor before mounting the cooler. Route the thick 24-pin cable to the large port on the right side of the motherboard. Route the 8-pin processor power cable to the top left corner of the motherboard.</p><p>Install your graphics card into the top long PCIe slot on the motherboard. Push it until the tab clicks. Screw the metal bracket into the back of the case. Run the required PCIe power cables from your power supply directly into the graphics card.</p><p>Finally, plug in the small front panel cables for your case power button. The motherboard manual will show you the exact pins for these tiny connectors.<br><br></p><p><strong><span style='color: rgb(255, 48, 48); font-size: 14pt;' data-mce-style='color: #ff3030; font-size: 14pt;'>Installing the fans</span></strong></p><p>Proper airflow is key to keeping your system cool. Begin by checking your case manual to see the recommended fan placement for intake and exhaust. Intake fans should usually be mounted at the front or bottom of the case to draw in cool air, while exhaust fans are typically placed at the back or top to push out hot air. Use the screws provided with your fans to secure them in place. Connect the fan cables to the appropriate fan headers on your motherboard, or use a fan hub if your case includes one. Make sure the airflow direction is consistent by checking the arrows on the fan’s frame. Press the power button. The system will turn on and load the Windows setup screen.
