As Jon explains, unlike consoles PC gaming gives you several ways to break into the entertainment genre of gaming by allowing you to choose the option that best suits you. While console gaming of course has it’s uses, you are realistically only looking at acquiring a single console, and possibly a newer generation of said console within the next few years. PC gaming is where we break that unwritten rule, and the options are put back into an individual’s hands, you could get a pre-built gaming tower, build your own PC, pick up a portable gaming laptop, have a custom gaming PC built for you, and so much more.</p><p><br></p><p><br data-mce-bogus='1'></p><p>Designing and building a custom gaming PC for you is where we come in, since 2016 we have been constantly pushing to create a better custom gaming PC experience. Yeah, it’s custom all the way down, and the configurator is designed to guide users of any knowledge level through the customization experience. This article by Jon Bitner touches on some feedback we hear somewhat often; the idea that new or inexperienced users may feel overwhelmed. It’s a tough task to design a system that not only provides a deep and wide palette of options for the grizzled customization experts, but also keeps options open and fair to new users. Currently we offer some technical guidance in our blogs with more to come, a live chat to our technical support that can help guide new users, and pre-built RTS (Ready-To-Ship) options for those unsure how to proceed. We are working on smoothing this process out as much as possible, and as a failsafe the configurator will prevent users from building a system that has component conflicts.</p><p><br></p><p><br data-mce-bogus='1'></p><p>CLX gaming PCs are shipped with the intent that you can remove it from the packaging, plug it in, and go. Few components shift this idea, and at worst small cards such as Wi-Fi receivers may have to be screwed in manually, as they damage very easily if shipped already installed. Straight from the box performance is a key factor when designing custom PCs, the main point of ordering a PC of any magnitude is that it comes ready to exceed the expectations of the customer. While the actual specs of performance are going to hang largely off component choice, we take that extra bit of time to test and optimize each system and even offer overclocking services to really push each system where applicable. Keeping our PCs clean of any bloatware also helps ensure you get exactly what you order.</p><p><br></p><p><br data-mce-bogus='1'></p><p>Every review does it’s best to be unbiased, to show both the good and the bad and a common theme for CLX during 2021 was that our PCs were considered pricey. We can’t really refute that argument, acquiring virtually any component was a difficult task and they came with a heavy mark-up. The dreaded GPU shortage hit all PC builders hard as well as the individual builders at home, but these days this system’s specs run about $800 cheaper. This difference is not exact as we do not currently offer all the exact same components, such as the chassis. The final thing to address is the contents of the box aside from the system, this will always include extra/unused attachments for your chassis and components such as mounting brackets for different sized components that your individual system is not currently using.</p><p><br></p><p><br data-mce-bogus='1'></p><p>Gaming is an interesting and unique form of entertainment, for some it is a hobby, others a career.
