So besides supporting those uninitiated in the custom PC building field of expertise, what is the benefit of purchasing a pre-built system from CLX? Unless the highest form of technology you own is a calculator from the 80s then it won’t surprise you to hear that 2021 was a rough time for acquiring components. Whether you’re a DIY builder who was feverishly trying to get your hands on a coveted GPU before the scalpers and crypto-bros, or a System Integrator waiting on your small and massively delayed slice of the shrinking component pie. Of course, this didn’t stay the case forever, however it was definitely part of Rikka Altland from 9To5Toy’s decision to work with us at CLX. Almost every review we look at from “back in the day” loves to point out our custom configurator and for good reason – it’s an excellent piece of custom software. If you’ve read a CLX Flashback or just been to the CLX website you’ve almost certainly seen or interacted with the configurator already. Unlike nearly every other system integrator our configurator does way more than the basics due to its custom nature, we were able to take in a lot of feedback and look at what’s missing and make it happen. From aesthetics to part selection, conflict prevention, overlocking, and additional resources of almost any type, we put it all front and centre for you to choose. Interestingly almost every prior review mention having an at least positive experience with our support, however this one stands out against that trend. In their article 9to5Toy’s writer expresses a situation regarding communication and shipping, and rather than say “whoops” and move on; we’ve done some analyses. At the time of Rikka’s order was of course the components scarcity, no surprise there and while they chose some particularly difficult components to acquire, that wasn’t the full situation. The order for the CLX Horus they intended to review came at a rather inopportune time, as we were completely swapping our system that handles orders to a new system. When we originally reached out to 9to5Toys, no one was available to coordinate the delivery and we had to essentially ship the PC back to our facility; and back to 9to5Toys again, causing additional delays, with the system making to them late July. Why it took 9to5Toys a month to provide the system to Rikka, we don’t know but it’s unfortunate that’s weighed in the review. Fortunately, this is all a thing of the past, as our support team is not only much larger, but our shipping systems are fully upgraded. While we’d love to say we can make every user happy whether they’re a customer, partner or even a reviewer; some are more difficult than others. <a href='https://9to5toys.com/2021/10/22/clx-pc-prebuilt-hands-on/' data-mce-href='https://9to5toys.com/2021/10/22/clx-pc-prebuilt-hands-on/'>This review</a> in particular goes on to highlight our excellent shipping package, well built and customized CLX gaming PC, and fully pre-configured system that runs directly out of the box.
