This mindset has been true since probably the 90’s if not earlier, and a year ago Tommy Williams wrote an article on Geektyrant that echoed the same idea. In his review of our custom CLX gaming PCs, he asks a lot of very important questions regarding what goes into acquiring a gaming PC. Do you build your own or buy a pre-built? What is the difference, really?

When we work with reviewers it’s pretty standard that we explain who we are and what we do. Here at CLX we give you the user the ability to design everything about your PC, then we build it for you. Unsurprisingly this means that the price point is higher than if you were to design and build the PC yourself, so what is the upside? Why do thousands of happy customers order our systems every month? Let’s start with the basics. As Tommy writes “However, with CLX you don’t have to worry about accidentally frying any parts because you’re not grounded, bent pins that ruin your CPU, trying to figure out cable management, etc.” And this is all true. Realistically speaking, this is the type of service any respectable PC building company should provide. A PC is only as good as the parts it’s made of and installing or servicing those parts poorly will reflect in places such as poor connectivity, cables disrupting airflow, or damaged components operating incorrectly.

We fully understand that trying to assemble a PC can be incredibly stressful, my first home build needed multiple breaks so that I would stop sweating onto the motherboard. But that doesn’t mean all you’re paying for is labor costs. The CLX interface is a big component of the experience we provide, and we strive to continuously make it better and better. Our custom PC building interface is designed to simplify the user experience needed when it comes to selecting parts, providing benchmarks, compatibility warnings, and even measurements to ensure everything fits inside your case. We aim to make sure our system removes all stress associated with designing your own gaming PC.

Now I’d love to tell you that the next steps are a flawless process where we assemble your machine, ensure it matches your exact design, thoroughly test it, and send it off to its new home at your battle-station. While this is technically true, and we work tirelessly to ensure every system we send out meets our high expectations with regards to quality control, shipping packaging, and timely delivery; this is an occasion where we genuinely dropped the ball. While I’m not honestly sure how we managed to do it, we sent Tommy the incorrect PC. In his case this is a bit different as we have specific PCs meant to go to reviewers and we simply sent him the wrong review unit, but this was still egg on our face at the time, and not something realistic for a customer order.

Luckily for us what we pack in our shipping crates and how we pack them stays the same for all our premium sarcophagus shipped PCs. While we did attempt to send the correct PC over, in this situation Geektyrant opted to continue the review with the initial system. Despite sending the incorrect system, it still performed exceptionally on the benchmarks ran by Tommy; you can find those tests in his post on Geektyrant here.

Despite the experience not going perfect, we were able to get it sorted and it seemingly didn’t sour the experience. Customer support and assistance is at the forefront of our actions, as we work directly with customers to fix issues such as this rather than passing it off to an external team. No one expects to have a bump in their experience when they work with a PC builder, but incidents do occur despite the best of efforts and intentions, we’re all human. With that said we have systems in place to assist those who have any potential issues, including lifetime technical and labor warranties as well as a minimum of a year’s worth of parts warranty. Our aim is always to make sure that a customer’s experience is worth the investment of going beyond building their own PC.

But you don’t have to take my word for it, you can check it all out for yourself by clicking here, selecting a desktop starting option of your choice and customizing from there. We offer a live chat support if you have any questions, and the configurator is completely free to play around with.

","id":"p0","sort_index":0,"type":"paragraph"}],"mid_image_path":"clx-flashback-series-geektyrant-mid.jpg","sid":"pc-parts-benchmark","small_image_path":"clx-flashback-series-geektyrant-small.jpg","sub_title":"It should come as no surprise that in the world of gaming’s many platforms’ PCs are often regarded as the best option","title":"CLX Flashback Series: Geektyrant Review 2021"}
