There’s a hint of farm sim, there’s the exploration factor, and if you want to dungeon-crawl, Minecraft has that too. Despite its simplistic-style graphics and minimalist vibe, the game stands strong as the king of the sandbox genre. This by no means is a “dead” title, so if news of the upcoming Wild update sparked your interest but you were afraid the game had died off in recent years, you can lay those fears to rest. Minecraft is undoubtedly bigger than ever. <h2>What Does The Minecraft Wild Update Contain?</h2> Dubbed The Wild, Minecraft update 1.19 will be released in 2022 and will contain an assortment of additions that will expand the world even further. In case you have been away from the game in recent years, Minecraft has actually come quite a ways from where it started. Worlds feel more lush and organic now, with more variance in the way biomes mesh and form. There’s far more items to collect and craft, and more mobs to encounter. Bees, mountain goats, and tropical fish are just some of the new critters you will run into, each with their own behaviors and uses that add new dimensions to the gameplay. The Caves and Cliffs update really fleshed out the underground side of the game, adding amethyst geodes, organic rock formations, and fan-favorite axolotls into the mix. Considered to be a “part 2” of the Caves and Cliffs update, The Wild is going to add on a whole lot more in terms of atmosphere and items, some of which will work in tandem with updates found in Caves and Cliffs. For instance, the new dripstone blocks will be able to “form” stalagmites, as there is currently no way for the player to make these on his or her own.<h3> </h3><h3>New Swamp Biome</h3> It’s been a while since Minecraft received an entirely new kind of biome. With The Wild comes a new mangrove swamp area that is just as intriguing as it sounds. This new biome for Minecraft will contain lush foliage, mostly in the form of new mangrove trees, which grow out of the water. From the looks of the trailer, these areas will be inundated with water and will feature mud and wood as primary resources. There’s another aspect of this new biome that is sure to please, however...<h3> </h3><h3>Frogs?</h3> It appears that frogs are finally coming to Minecraft, and most likely they will be found in the new swamp biomes. At present we don’t know exactly what their use will be in terms of the survival element of the game, but we do know that they are a welcome addition and will help to add that extra bit of atmosphere to the swampy areas.<h3> </h3><h3>Experience The Deep Dark</h3> One of the more fascinating new additions to the game will be the inclusion of new dark underground cities. A new kind of ruin that can be presumably uncovered in caves, these new areas appear like ancient tombs or temples, with brick walls, candles, and other spooky elements. Along with these new areas to explore is a new “deep dark” mechanic that seems to be a kind of artificially induced darkness that is pitch black and may occur when new enemy mobs are present. These new “dark” areas are unlike anything we’ve seen before in the world of Minecraft, and may even be stranger than the Nether itself. How these areas will change the adventure aspect of the game, only time will tell, but coupled with all of the new cave elements that were just released, there’s never been a better time to start mining away and exploring the vast underground cave networks and tunnels within every Minecraft world.<h2> </h2><h2> </h2><h2>Is Your Gaming PC Ready For The Wild?</h2> Minecraft certainly has come a long way as far as the core game experience goes. One of the reasons why it has exploded in popularity and maintained its status is partly due to the fact that it is a highly accessible game.
