As usual, the CLX gaming crew is ready to test the latest gear by playing this award-winning game.</p><h2><br data-mce-bogus='1'></h2><h2>A few words on the Closed Beta</h2><p><br></p><p>Lost Ark Closed Beta started on November 4th, at 9 am Pacific time, through November 11th, at 11:59 am PST for North America and Europe via Steam. That means we have plenty of time to dip our toes into the amazing and massive world of Akrasia before they close the park until 2022.</p><p><br></p><p>Users can sign up to their official website with their Amazon account for a chance to playtest the game until November 11th. Players who want a spot in the beta can purchase a founders pack at 14.99 for the bronze pack up to 99.99 for the platinum pack.</p><p><br></p><p>Preloading for early birds started on November 2nd, and boy are we excited to see what those 50GB bring for us.</p><p><br></p><p>This closed beta won't be much of a product test since the game has been running for three years now. It will be more of a server stress test to see how capable they are of handling their definite release. However, beta test players will be able to experience newly added content and be the first ones to produce content using in-game footage aimed at western audiences. That is a big win for streamers and walkthrough builders, but also for those of us who like trying new hardware on the latest releases.</p><h2><br data-mce-bogus='1'></h2><h2><br data-mce-bogus='1'></h2><h2>Can My Gaming PC Run Lost Ark?</h2><p><br data-mce-bogus='1'></p><p>Lost Ark was released more than three years ago, so it won't be as resource intensive as other Triple-A games of more recent manufacture. The game’s recommended requirements aren't that demanding in general, so you can push the game to the max with an old GTX 1050 and still get a decent framerate. The game was a smashing success and later extended its reach to Japanese and Russian audiences.</p><p><br></p><p>The game gained a lot of traction among fans of the genre, and there was a surge in popular demand for the game from all over the world but was only available to western audiences who didn't care about language barriers via VPN.</p><p><br></p><p>Last year amazon Games announced its release for 2022 but is currently running a closed beta for those who want to give the game a one-week trial.</p><p><br></p><p>The plot of the game is nothing to write home about, yet it gives players a fair understanding of what it is that they fight for.</p><p><br></p><p>Akrasia was on the brink of destruction a few hundred years ago because a demonic presence called Kazeros invaded the world with a demonic legion. The demon was ultimately subdued and incarcerated with the power of an artifact called the Ark, which also sealed the rift used by Kazeros to invade Akrasia.</p><p><br></p><p>The peoples of Akrasia rebuilt their world and were able to prosper and thrive for hundreds of years, as the memories of the unspeakable evil faded, forgotten at the bottom of a volcano waiting to be reawakened.</p><p><br></p><p>The gameplay is not too different from the Diablo and Path Of Exile formula: isometric top-down view and fast-paced, hack-and-slash action with lots of randomized loot and powerful rewards for ever more difficult quests.</p><p><br></p><p>However, Lost Ark has many unique differences. For example, while in Diablo-style games you get random items directly from enemies, in Lost Ark you must spend time trying to get the right materials to craft the desired items.</p><p><br></p><p>The advancement structure is also very similar as you acquire new skills and level up, allowing you to deal more damage and kill increasingly more powerful foes. The game heavily focuses on choosing the best combos for your class to maximize damage dealing.</p><p><br></p><p>There are 5 starting classes to choose from at the beginning.</p><p><br></p><p>Warrior</p><p>Martial artist</p><p>Gunner</p><p>Mage</p><p>Assassin</p><p><br></p><p>Things get a bit more interesting with character development as Ark uses a tripod system where you get to level up your character into different subclasses, adding a lot more RPG elements than those found in Diablo or Torchlight. There are currently 21 subclasses in the Korean version, but we will only be able to see 14 during the open beta.</p><p><br></p><p>The game also allows you to build your own in-game private island, which can be customized to your heart´s content, which gave us a Nintendo´s Animal Crossing vibe.</p><p><br></p><p>Many people worry this free-to-play title will become a pay-to-win scheme due to Amazon´s involvement. Players also fear Amazon Games´ poor record of abandoning games and has yet to fully launch a title and see it through.</p><p><br></p><p>However, the game has maintained its integrity long enough to dispel many of these fears. The game has maintained a solid in-game off-game economy for more than three years, and it has proven to be a success so far.
