Offering a somewhat more strategic, slower style of gameplay than the Call of Duty series, Battlefield is known for large-format battles that take place on giant maps, a comprehensive class system, and more recently, destructible environments.

Recent leaks regarding the next Battlefield title have brought the series back into everyone’s mind, and while nothing has been officially released yet in regards to Battlefield 6, what we do know seems promising. Below we’ll highlight some of these points and also give you our take on why you may want to consider a powerful pre-built gaming desktop if you intend on getting the most out of this game when it finally hits stores.

Looking Back at Battlefield V

Despite the hype initially surrounding it, Battlefield V was both a hit and a miss for fans of the franchise.

On the one hand, the game had solid campaigns, decent gunplay, massive maps, and was relatively ambitious in terms of content. On the other, it was unfortunately plagued with bugs (especially at launch), questionable overreliance on stealth in single-player campaigns, had bizarre animation and sound issues, and of course, there was the forgettable battle royale mode, Firestorm.

This is perhaps what fans remember the most about Battlefield V. At a time when Battle Royale pandemonium was in full swing and everyone was trying to cash in on the craze with their own take on this addictive multiplayer game format, Firestorm just wasn’t enough.

To put things in perspective, Firestorm was released about a month after mega-hit Apex Legends, and about half a year after Call of Duty: Blackout. There was more than enough time to design a strategic skill-based military-style BR with great mechanics and gameplay elements, but it quickly became apparent that developer DICE dropped the ball with Firestorm.

Not only was the mode itself unpolished and lackluster, even compared to Blackout, but it was also bundled in with the full game, which meant that in order to even experience Firestorm, you had to purchase the full-priced Battlefield V package. Not a good look for fans of battle royale-style games who just want to jump into the action.

Considering that popular titles such as Apex and Fortnite were free-to-play from the start and were by all accounts much better BRs, forcing players to pay for an unproven product simply shot down the mode’s success before it even had a chance to take off. Firestorm’s flop, along with a few other key issues, held Battlefield V back from being the game that fans needed it to be.

What Fans Are Looking for in Battlefield 6

Fans are hopeful for a more well-rounded and enjoyable experience in Battlefield 6, that capitalizes on the best innovations of V yet calls back to the classic era of the series in terms of the atmosphere, gunplay mechanics, and content.

The leaks have hinted that the game may actually represent a series reboot that will take after Battlefield 3, with an added emphasis on destructible environments, one of the previous game’s stand-out features. The leaks also seem to suggest that the size and scope of the battles in this game may be larger than anything else the series has pulled off to date.

This obviously opens up questions about what will be required in order to play a game of this caliber. With larger maps, more players on the battlefield, and even greater environmental destruction, EA’s next entry in the series might turn out to be a real resource hog.

For longtime fans of the series who prefer to play on PC, this should come as no surprise. Battlefield V was quite the resource-intensive game in its own right, so everything points to this next-generation title being that much more demanding. Having a high-end pre-built gaming desktop featuring a powerful processor and frame-shattering GPU might be a necessity in order to get the full experience.

When Are We Getting More Information?

EA DICE has been relatively tight-lipped about all things concerning Battlefield 6. Everything we know about the game thus far has been through the aforementioned leaks. We haven’t even been given a release trailer yet, so it’s difficult to say just when this game is slated to hit shelves, although the current target is for the 2021 holiday season.

Will Battlefield live up to the hype this time around and reclaim its former glory? Whether it will have an improved battle royale mode or something else to pull players away from Warzone and other popular titles is anyone’s guess. In the meantime, it’s worth making sure that your gaming PC can handle whatever Battlefield 6 has in store.

","id":"p0","sort_index":0,"type":"paragraph"},{"alt":"gaming desktop","content":"gaming-desktop.jpg","id":"img1","sort_index":1,"type":"image"},{"content":"

Prepare For The Action With a Pre-built Gaming Desktop

Buying a pre-built gaming PC that has the right specifications in order to take on today’s titles shouldn’t leave you wondering if you made the right choice or not.
