Here’s what caught our eye. The previous year was somewhat of a lull in the gaming world, to no one’s surprise. The pandemic stifled many projects and delayed others, and while there was plenty to keep us occupied, there was somewhat of a dearth in terms of new titles. This year things seem to have returned to normal, as a plethora of titles have been teased and announced for the coming months, many of which look promising. If you are an avid PC gamer and aren’t yet caught up on all of the gems that dropped at E3, you will want to read ahead. We’ll be highlighting some of the most hotly anticipated games to come out of this year’s PC showing at E3, as well as list off some of the reasons why you should consider picking up one of our small gaming desktops if you intend on playing these new titles when they are finally released.<h2> </h2><h2>Elden Ring</h2> To kick things off, this is one game that just about everyone has their eyes on, and for good reason. The next entry courtesy of FromSoftware, and the spiritual successor to games like Dark Souls 3, Bloodborne, and Sekiro, Elden Ring looks as though it could be one of the stand out titles of 2022. For some, the immediate question is, “does the world really need another Dark Souls game?” The answer is yes. While Sekiro was a great game and a welcome deviation from the usual From Software formula, for many fans of the usual gothic-fantasy-action-RPG series, it didn’t quite scratch the itch. As we are half a decade out from Dark Souls 3, it only makes sense that many fans of the series would be clamouring for a game. From what we have seen of <a href='https://www.bandainamcoent.com/landing/eldenring' data-mce-href='https://www.bandainamcoent.com/landing/eldenring'>Elden Ring</a>, it looks as though this new title will hit all of the right notes while expanding on some of the mechanics that made games like Bloodborne and Sekiro so popular. Elden Ring looks fresh, vibrant, and fluid, with a more open-world style map and battles that take place on an even grander scale. (There were definitely some Shadow of the Colossus Vibes.) With new features such as mounted combat (acrobatic horses?), stealth mechanics a la Sekiro, weather and some form of a day / night cycle, and a larger number of combat options in order to encourage different ways to play, Elden Ring has all the makings of another home run by FromSoftware. <h2> </h2><h2>Icarus</h2> Visually striking and incredibly immerse, <a href='https://surviveicarus.com/' data-mce-href='https://surviveicarus.com/'>Icarus</a> describes itself as a “session-based PvE survival game,” and is slated for release later this year. While we have had glimpses of this game for months now, its showing at E3 has only reiterated the fact that this could be one of the best games of the year. While the survival genre has been booming as of late, where Icarus seeks to set itself apart is in the richness of the experience. With extremely detailed graphics and a huge world to explore and thrive in. Not unlike titles such as Escape From Tarkov, the gameplay in Icarus will revolve around timed sessions. This means that once you drop into the world, you will only have x-amount of time to scavenge, forage, loot, craft, and hunt until you have to return to your capsule and escape. All the while you will need to brave the elements and the local wildlife (and who knows what else) in order to make it back with your bounty. Icarus looks like another clear winner, but it’s certainly worth pointing out that you may want to invest in a high-performance gaming computer if you intend on really getting your money’s worth out of this title, as its graphics are truly what one would consider “next generation.”<h2> </h2><h2> </h2><h2>Lemnis Gate</h2> A refreshing, eye-catching FPS from Ratloop Games Canada, this unique and fast-paced action game takes the traditional model for these kinds of PvP games and condenses the action into 25-second rounds. Based on what was revealed at E3, this title looks like it could be a surprising hit. With colorful graphics, solid mechanics, and a format that ensures there won’t be any camping or slow-paced gameplay, this could be one game to watch. This shooter is also slated for August of this year, so if you want to jump into the action, <a href='https://www.lemnisgategame.com/' data-mce-href='https://www.lemnisgategame.com/'>Lemnis Gate</a> isn’t too far off.<h2> </h2><h2> </h2><h2>Dying Light 2: Stay Human</h2> Aiming for a December 2021 release, <a href='https://preorder.dyinglightgame.com/' data-mce-href='https://preorder.dyinglightgame.com/'>Dying Light 2: Stay Human</a> is the greatly anticipated sequel to the popular 2015 survival horror game Dying Light. It looks as though the “parkour” mechanics that made the first game a hit are being even more expanded upon, with an even greater emphasis on fluid combat and an immersive environment that changes as you make certain decisions. The game looks visually stunning and appears as though it will only enhance upon what made the first game such a success. <h2>Finding a Gaming Desktop That Can Handle These Upcoming Titles</h2> If there’s one thing that all of these new games have in common, it’s that they are not shy about using detailed textures and advanced special effects in order to create beautiful, immersive worlds to play in. If you intend on experiencing these games on PC, you’re going to want to pick up a gaming computer that is suitably powerful enough.
